The Parish enjoyed a successful evening, commemorating the 80-year anniversary of D-Day, on Thursday the 6th of June, 2024.
The evening began with a fish and chip supper at The Gait Inn, where 50 portions were served, raising £50 towards the four chosen D-Day charities.
At 8.45pm, ten torches were lit and carried in a parade from the pub up to the Swineridge site. Around 40 people gathered for the lighting of the beacon at 9.15pm which followed the reading of a the commemorative poem.
It was a well supported evening and another village event that will be remembered by many.
